What kind of benefits do you look forward to from the forthcoming
budget for the insurance sector?
Firstly, I look forward to clarifications on the Eradi committee
recommendations related to the existing system of taxation of insurance
companies which was submitted two years ago. At present the total
insurance is taxed. The present system taxes policyholders and insurance
companies alike, which I feel is not right. So I expect the finance
minister to provide clarifications on the recommendations.
Secondly, I expect tax clarity on annuities, which will benefit
the retired individuals.
Besides I also hope the economy takes off in the post budget scenario.
What kind of benefits do you look forward to for agents and other
intermediaries?
As far as agents and other intermediaries are concerned I hope both
the bills are passed in the budget session and corporate agency
regulations take off.
What benefits will the approaching budget bring for policyholders?
For policyholders I hope the budget brings about pension sector
reforms. I also hope the budget addresses the unorganized sector
as far as pensions are concerned.
When will your company introduce pension/annuity products?
Our company will introduce pension products once the necessary regulations
are in place.
