What kind of benefits do you look forward to from the
forthcoming budget for the insurance sector?
I look forward to the infrastructure sector being supported
by life insurance. I hope the budget gives more tax benefits
under Section 88 and encourages investment in infrastructure
bonds by giving tax rebates on these bonds.
Also the budget will give a clear direction on pension reforms
which will be a positive fillip to the insurance sector.
What about to for agents and other intermediaries?
For agents I do not see anything in particular but I feel
the two bills that are pending will be passed in the coming
budget session which will provide encouragement to insurance
intermediaries.
What about agents and other intermediaries such as brokers,
corporate agents etc?
Policyholders will benefit when pension reforms are given
a thrust which is very much expected from the budget. Pension
reforms are due for quite sometime now and the government
hopefully will not delay it any further.
When will your company introduce pension/annuity products?
We will introduce pension products once the rules and regulations
happen.
